Carrier ductless systems operate 30-40% more energy-efficiently than window air conditioners, and they are whisper quiet, around 25 dB.
Even with a ductless mini-split in the room, you can watch TV or talk on the phone without worrying about the roar of the air conditioner in the background.

It would have been expensive to install additional ductwork in this home for a traditional cooling system, and there wasn’t a good way to hide ductwork in existing closets or hallways without ruining the aesthetics- and storage space- of the home. After meeting with the homeowners, we recommended two zones of air conditioning for the downstairs living and dining rooms, where the family spent most of their time.
This will give the family the comfort they needed- and additional safety, by not having downstairs windows open with window air conditioners for several months.
We also made sure we sized the main heat pump so that it could be easily expanded in the future, in case the homeowners decided to add additional comfort to the bedrooms on the second floor.
If they do decide to do this in the future, all they’ll have to do is add additional wall units and lines to the existing outdoor unit- making these additions much more cost-effective.
